Senteurs et Saveurs en Drôme Provençale
Domaine les Garelles
The activities that take place on our farm are numerous:
Tourism: guest rooms, stop over gites, inn
Arboriculture: apricot trees, lime trees and lavender
Livestock: goats, farm-reared pigs, and chicken yard.

Come and discover the hamlet of Tarendol.
Tarendol is built upon blue "marne" (ancient seabed) covered by a layer of a few centimetres of stones. For centuries, probably for thousands of years, men have been managing to scratch a living from this dry earth. The name of the hamlet, which goes back to the pre-Celtic days, means "a high-up place with water".

AubergeIt is because of the thin trickle of water that exists there that a few families gathered there on the flanks of the mount Charamélet.
In the old days the only fruit that could be safely stored until it could be taken to the Nyons market to be sold without it having rotted was the almond. Now that fast lorry services have replaced the mule-driven carriages, apricot trees, which give the most beautiful fruits, have been planted. These fragile apricots are picked early and taken away to be sold to the most discerning.
Now, also, the wild lavender fields have given way to the fields of cultivated lavender.

Elevage, chèvresIn our goat rearing building we rear about 100 animals.
The milk of our goats is made into fabulous-tasting cheeses that you can taste at our dinner table.
The cheeses are refined in-situ and we also make Picodon AOC, another great-tasting cheese.
In our farm-inn, you can also discover our farm-specialities: apricot nectar, apricot jams, goat's cheeses, Picodons AOC, and, in the spring, cold meats and baby goat meat.

There are big bedrooms for you, all fully en-suite equipped. There is a swimming pool at your disposal.
